5th Annual Youth Art Show

Oxford Artists' Guild and YAC announce . . .


the 5th Annual Youth Art Exhibition.  


All students from Pre-School to High School Senior that are residents of the city of Oxford or Lafayette County and/or attend any area school located in the City of Oxford or Lafayette County are eligible to participate in the show.

1.  One entry per student.  All works must be accompanied by a completed entry form.
2.  All works must be framed and ready to hang with sturdy hooks.  Unframed works will not be accepted.
3.  Studio and Gallery Style canvases do not have to be framed, but must have a sturdy wire attached for hanging.  Drop off date is Friday, March 4 from 9 am – 5 pm.  Early or late drop offs will not be accepted.
4.  Artwork will be judged based on age categories.  Prizes will be awarded with emphasis on originality.
5.  Reception and announcement of awards will be made on Tuesday, March 22 from 6-8 at the Powerhouse in conjunction with the Art Crawl.
6.  Works are to be picked up on Monday, April 4th between 9 am – 5 pm.
7.  All work must be committed for the duration of the show.   March 4 – April 4.
8.  YAC and the Oxford Artists’ Guild assumes no responsibility for work lost or broken, however, every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of work from delivery to pickup.
9.  Photographs of your work may be posted on YAC or the artists’ guild website.

Library Show

The Frances McEwen Library Show

This show is dedicated to one of our founding members, Frances McEwen.  She believed that everyone should have the chance to enjoy art.  The library show brings the art to the public in an easy and casual way.

Over 20 artists have works displayed in the show including leatherwork, pottery, basketry, and art of all media.

The show is open for viewing on February 1 through February 28th at the Oxford/Lafayette Public Library during regular library hours.

A meet and greet the artists' reception will be held on February 13th from 2-4.  The public is invited to attend.

Due to the weather conditions, the "Seeing Sargent Face to Face" will be rescheduled for a later time.  We regret any inconvenience, but roads and bridges are expected to refreeze this evening.

"Seeing Sargent Face to Face"

"Seeing Sargent Face to Face"

Jerrod Partridge is a well known Jackson, Mississippi artist and portrait painter.

He will be share his experiences and insights gained in reproducing John Singer Sargent's Portrait of Albert de Belleroche, c. 1882 at the Mississippi Museum of Art last year.


 The program will be held at the University of Mississippi Museum on Saturday, January 23 at 10:00.



Coffee and Pastries provided by Oxford Artists' Guild.

The public is invited to attend this incredible program.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Kurre Luber for having the winning bid on the Laquon Treadwell painting!  All the proceeds will be going to the annual Youth Art show to be held at the Powerhouse in March.
