Needs for Youth Art Classes
Art Camp Needs
If anyone has any of the following items, they can donate to the youth art summer program, we would greatly appreciate it!
Drop off at the Powerhouse Monday-Friday between 9 and 5. Our Sculpture class is the second week of June so the quicker we can get these things, the better. Much thanks in advance!
1.paper tubes-from wrapping paper, toilet paper, and paper towels
2. plastic cups from apple sauce or fruit cups-the little plastic cups that these items come in are very handy in the art room and we will use them for sculptures as well and maracas if we get enough.
3. Styrofoam packing material-not the peanuts but the actual styrofoam that cushions electronics, etc. We can cut it for space creatures!
4. plastic lids from soda-the more colorful the better
5. scrap wood pieces
6. old buttons from cast off clothing, etc.
7. bottle caps-metal from soda, beer, etc.
8. wine corks
9. mat board scraps
We do not need anymore glass jars or egg cartons. We have enough of those but the above items can be very useful. You can drop it off at the Powerhouse with ART CAMP written on it and leave your name on it, so I can send you a thank you and photos of what we make.

3rd Annual yART Sale
yART Sale
YAC's third annual yART sale will be held on February 21st from 10-2 at the Powerhouse. Each year we clean up and clean out- extra supplies, half finished projects, works that were abandoned, broken or didn't turn out quite right. It's a yard sale for art.
This is a great time to finally move on from that experimental piece you tried in college but it didn't turn out right and you can't sell but you don't want to throw it away but who would you give it to? Or that painting your ex gave you, but you don't actually like it and now it's just collecting dust in your laundry room next to your washing machine. Or how about that hooked rug you started last summer. Pack that stuff up and bring it to the yART sale! You can simply donate the items and know that they will find good homes, or you can receive points for them and shop for new to you stuff.
The YAC has already started a great pile of stuff from our classes and green cage, but the fun really starts with the community comes together to trade supplies and works. We hope you will help make this a continuing tradition by coming out and adding to our mix, but if you can't, please pass along the information to others who you think would be interested.
So clean out those closets! Free the space under your bed! Finally admit you're never going to finish that hooked rug/macrame wall hanging/mosaic birdbath and come take home someone else's half finished rug/hanging/birdbath!
There is something for everyone. See you on February 21st 10-2 at the Powerhouse.
