Bozart Exhibition featuring Cindy Aune

New Work by Paula Temple and Cindy Aune

Artists’ Reception:  Friday, February 21, 6 – 9 pm
Bozarts Gallery presents two accomplished artists in a new show featuring work that is both abstract and figurative.  Cindy Aune’s new acrylic figurative work is expressive of the emotional states of her subjects.  Many of her canvases are fresh renderings of the human figure on canvases that are layered with paint and texture. Her portraits often radiate an emotional complexity that draws the viewer in.
The rich colors and loose fluid style of Cindy Aune’s paintings resonate beautifully with Paula Temple’s fresh watercolors.  Temple’s exuberant abstract paintings were inspired by an Artist’s Residency in France last summer.  The expressive and colorful water imagery was drawn from her stay at the river town Marney-sur-Seine where she painted every day by the side of the Seine. Many of her paintings feature startling new techniques for creating her unique style including melting ice cubes on watercolor paper.  All of her paintings leave the representational mode of painting in search for the deep and expressive soul of the river.
Paula Temple has been painting and teaching art for more than three decades at the University of Mississippi, and her stunning work in this exhibition represents the culmination of her painting career.

Also on view:  The Oxford landscapes of Michael T. Maxwell and new work by the 15 members of the Bozarts Alliance.

The show up at Bozarts Gallery until March 28, 2014.
Hours: Thursday and Friday: noon - 5 pm, Saturday 10 - 4:00 pm and by appointment: 662-473-2484
