Summer Schedule 2021 Announced

I know it is hard to believe with the cold weather we are having now, but spring is just around the corner and that means Summer Break will be upon us before we know it. In order to prepare I am taking a professional development course online with teachers all over the world to learn new fun techniques to teach your kids. We have a full slate of exciting themes and will keep your kids occupied and safe all summer long. We know the rules, and led 10 successful weeks of camp in the summer. We intend to keep your kids safe this year as well. Please check out all of our options for summer below and register as soon as possible to guarantee your spot. We also have a fun Spring Break Art Camp coming up as well.
Safety Precautions in place:
In order to keep everyone safe including your children and our staff, we are taking the following steps to protect our space and everyone in it:

  1. Each child will get a clean apron each Monday that they will use for the entire week. It will be laundered each weekend and be clean for the following week. All aprons will be labeled with child's name for them to use that week.
  2. Right now there is a limit of 20 campers each week.
  3. Each child will get a washable mask on Monday. It will be theirs for the week and will have their name on it. They will keep it in a paper bag each evening when they leave and while eating lunch and snacks. It is possible we will not have to use them all summer but at least in the beginning when we are at the tables we will need to use them.
  4. Temperatures will be taken of all children and employees when entering camp.
  5. Hand sanitizing station will be set up at entrance and children will need to clean hands before going to their table.
  6. All employees will wear masks and wash hands regularly. They will also have their temperature taken each morning as they arrive.
  7. Children will be seated only 4 to a table instead of 5-6 like usual (even at lunch).
  8. Employees and Campers will wash hands before and after every meal, snack and activity and tables.
  9. Tables and bathrooms will be sanitized multiple times during the day.
  10. We will avoid contact games such as Duck Duck Goose, etc. and focus on games where children can spread out as much as possible at least in the beginning until we feel safe to relax rules if we can.
  11. Children can bring mats to rest on movie days but will need to bring home and launder before bringing back and one child each to a mat. No sharing. ( Movie days will be Wednesdays and Fridays except for final week which will be movie day each day!)
  12. Children and employees who have a fever or any symptoms of illness will be sent home immediately. Families will be given a prorated refund for days missed. (We also ask that if any family members of campers or employees get sick, that those individuals stay home as well to minimize risk of exposure.)
Classes and programs offered by the Arts Council may be adjusted to be responsive to evolving City of Oxford, Lafayette County and Health Department guidelines.

Refunds will be offered on camps and classes that have to be cancelled due to changes in community polices as set by City of Oxford, Lafayette County and the Health Department. Refunds will be offered on a prorated basis if a child or family member becomes ill, and it is determined for the health and safety reasons that the child should not attend camp. Due to the limited number of spaces available for camp, priority will be given to those attending the full camp. Day or partial registrations will be an option if camps do not reach full enrollment.
Private Lessons
Do you prefer private lessons for your child this semester? I offer art lessons for ages 3 and up and sewing lessons for ages 8 and up in my private studio located at 309 West Jackson Avenue. Cost is 30.00 per one hour session and sessions can be booked once a week, every other week or just for special projects.
